Naomi Parfitt

Hello! I’m Naomi Parfitt, the new Cancer Information Nurse at Star Throwers.

I have worked at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital within the acute care sector for the last 8 years, mainly within the renal department but also caring for a number of oncology patients on the wards. I have always had a special interest in oncology and focused my dissertation research specifically on breast cancer and mastectomies.

Prior to my nursing degree I was a volunteer at Star Throwers. I very much enjoyed my volunteer role all those years ago, so when the team were searching for a new member to join them, I jumped at the chance.

Naomi joins the existing Star Throwers Cancer Information Nurse, Tina Hales.

Cancer Information Sessions: When someone is diagnosed with cancer, they or their carer often becomes their own ‘cancer researcher’. However, without a medical background or experience reading scientific papers this can lead to conflicting information and websites / literature that cause more confusion. Star Throwers aims to make peer-reviewed cancer research accessible and understandable to you and your loved ones so that you can make informed decisions.

To book a free Cancer Information Session with our nurse, contact us on 01953 423304.
