The refurbished court

Wymondham Tennis club is based at Ketts Park. There are 4 courts available all with LED floodlighting open every day from 7am -10pm; managed by South Norfolk Council in partnership with the tennis club. Anyone can pay & play but club members get advantages that are well worth the £90/year senior household subscription.

The courts can be booked by members for free at any time, up to 14 days in advance; if lights are required there is a charge but at a reduced rate. Members can also join the club social sessions which are currently on Tuesday & Friday, 6 – 8pm, it is hoped there will be a day time session in the autumn. These are great if you are new to the area or don’t know other people who play; you just turn up and join in, there is a small fee for lights when they are used. The club is always pleased to see guests who might want to come to see if it is for them.

Members can join in all club events and are eligible to play in teams which are entered in local leagues; City League in summer, a veterans league, Norwich winter league. Members are also affiliated to the LTA which gives them access to the Wimbledon ticket ballot; several members were successful in this year’s ballot and had a great day out.

The club is currently looking for a new coaching team but are hopeful that there will be coaching programmes available in September. Getting children along to play tennis is very important to the club & there have been a number of junior groups run by the coaching team up until this summer, there are junior memberships available. For adults who want some more coaching, group or individual sessions will be available with discounts for club members.

To summarise; a single senior household membership is £90/year (£7.50/month) plus an additional household membership is £35/year & for that you can play every day (weather permitting), find new friends, get regular exercise & have some fun, there is always laughter on court. Visit the club website www.wymondhamtennis.club for full details of membership, activities and news.
