Wymondham Nature Group (WyNG), the local members’ group of Norfolk Wildlife Trust, continues its programme of indoor meetings throughout the coming months as follows. The talks are all held in the Town Green Community Centre, Wymondham, NR18 0PW (next to Wymondham Methodist Church). All are welcome - admission £2 - further details from Ann Carpenter on 01508 488337.

Thursday 9th February 2023, 7.30 pm – “Norfolk’s Wonderful 150”. This talk by Dr Tony Leech is based on a Norfolk & Norwich Naturalists’ Society book that profiles 150 species which are in some way special to Norfolk. Either it’s because it is a particularly good place to see them or, in some cases, the only place.

Thursday 9th March 2023, 7.30 pm – “Wild Geese and Winter Wildlife – a thousand miles around North Norfolk on an elderly bicycle” – by Nick Acheson. In the winter lockdowns of 2020-21, Nick cycled more than a thousand miles around North Norfolk on his mother’s 40 year old cycle, following flocks of Brent geese and pink-footed geese and speaking to the many people whose lives are touched by them. His resulting book, The Meaning of Geese, tells the story of arctic geese faced by changing landscape and climate (to be published in February 2023).
