New Buckenham Silver Band has been providing quality brass band music since 1887, proudly performing at all kind of events in the area such as summer fetes and park bandstands, special concerts, Christmas concerts and carolling, Remembrance parades, Royal Jubilees and many church events – indeed if you were in the town during December it is highly likely that you will have heard us performing either playing carols at the Wynterfest and Morrisons or perhaps even at our concert performance in Wymondham Abbey as part of the Zipper Club Nine Lessons and Carols – where we received a standing ovation.
We are a very friendly brass band with an ambitious agenda to grow and develop our capability – we have recently engaged a new Musical Director who is enormously talented at developing players and producing band performances and we are deeply proud that the band sources so much of its playing talent locally.
And this is where you might come in! If you have any interest in being involved with brass music – or you are a lapsed player who long ago set aside their playing interests, but would dearly love to renew that passion – then you will have no better an opportunity than to make contact with us right now. We are always keen to meet and accommodate new players to the band and you can be reassured that you will receive a warm welcome – so why not give it a go?
Rehearsals are every Thursday evening from 8:00pm to 9:45pm in New Buckenham Village, Hall Moat Lane, New Buckenham, Norwich, NR16 2AU.
