July and August have been energetic months for Wymondham Rotary, filled with community spirit, good conversations, and plenty of reminders that Rotary’s work goes far beyond raising money.

Jazz Picnic Success

Our Jazz Picnic had perfect weather and an excellent turnout. The relaxed atmosphere and mix of families, friends and newcomers, as well as the wonderful live jazz, created a truly memorable afternoon. Funds were raised, of course, and special thanks go to our sponsors, Spire Solicitors. But the real achievement was bringing people together.

Thought-provoking speakers

July also brought us two excellent speakers. Willem Buttinger explored the fast?changing world of social media and artificial intelligence, sparking lively discussion about how these technologies shape our lives. Geoff Stevens shared inspiring stories from Pathways Care Farm, which supports people living with mental health challenges, learning difficulties and dementia.

Continuing local work

Behind the scenes, we’ve been planning autumn activities, supporting local organisations, and exploring new opportunities for community service. Rotary clubs worldwide also continue to support major international projects, including efforts to combat malaria — a focus highlighted in the latest Rotary Magazine.

As autumn approaches, we look forward to new speakers, new initiatives and continuing our commitment to service. Whether it’s supporting local causes, learning from inspiring guests or simply enjoying fellowship, Wymondham Rotary remains dedicated to making a positive difference.
