Boulders are heavy
They roll in unseen
Loaded, weighty.
Burdens crushing rational thought.
With logic we try
To arrange them,
Into semblance of order
But boulders are too heavy to move.
In vain we wrap
Our boundless love
Round and around
Silky soft love slips to the ground.
Practical moves
Give shallow respite
From unwieldy load.
Helplessness emerges as boulder shifts
Shifts in position
Not in weight.
Reassurance is no salve
On 'boulder blows' to spirit and mind.
Human love
Holds fast and grim.
Seeing no resolution
Clings with hope beneath the boulder.
