Cyclists have fallen off their bikes at Wymondham’s London Road junction because of potholes, announced Ben Goldsborough, Labour MP for South Norfolk.
The 36-year-old MP took to Facebook last month and called upon the Council to ‘get their act together’ on potholes. In a speech filmed on the London Road junction, which connects the market square to the train station, he said the road surface was ‘more like the surface of the moon’.
‘The UK government has given Norfolk County Council over £280m,’ Goldsborough said. ‘It doesn’t look like they’re using that money at all.

‘I’ve had conversations with cyclists who have fallen off because of the size of the potholes here. I’ve had conversations with motorists who have had damage to their car, which has cost them hundreds of pounds and stopped them going to work or picking up the kids from school. These are things that mess up people’s lives, and it’s costs that people don’t need. Especially when you’re paying your council tax for it to be sorted.
‘Norfolk County Council, get your act together,’ he demanded. ‘I want to see this road completely and utterly redone.’
