The Totally Locally Fiver Fest is returning to Wymondham, and this time we’re teaming up with the Great Big Green Week to bring an even bigger celebration!

During the weeks of 24 September to 8 October, independently owned businesses in Wymondham will be offering great deals for only £5, to help you discover the value, expertise, and variety that you get when you buy from a local expert.

Wymondham first joined the national festival celebrating local independent shopping in February 2020. The campaign promotes the idea that if every adult in Wymondham spent just £5 a week in independently owned businesses, we would add £2.8 million of additional income to the local economy.

This means more jobs, a vibrant high street, higher house prices, and a great sense of community.

The offers highlight the contribution to the economy and the social support that local shops and businesses bring, but it’s also an opportunity for those businesses to say ‘Thank you’ to their loyal customers who have supported them through the pandemic.

Em Kuntze of Kett’s Books helped to introduce the campaign to Wymondham. She said ‘Over the last couple of years so many people have come to understand how important it is to have a strong high street. When hard times hit, people need to know where they live is strong. We’ve got through the lockdowns, but now new challenges loom. We need to keep the high street going so the people who we’ve got to know, the businesses that care about us, are all there when we need them. With Fiver Fest everybody can find a fiver, join in, and make a difference year-round.’
