Rachel Alcock is once again running her 'Letters to Santa' project until 18th December. Simply post your letter to Santa in the magic post box at 9 Folly Road to guarantee a personal response and a special treat. Make sure to include your return address.

This year the project is being run in loving memory of Vincent Hambelton, aka the Industrial Gardener. Any donations would be gratefully received and passed on to Thrive, a charity which "uses gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities or ill health, or who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable."

Rachel explained: "I started the secret santa post box 3 years ago in lockdown to cheer people up as it had been an awful year for everyone.  Charity means alot to me, this year is a different year as I am raising money for someone very special, in memory of Vincent Hambelton to Thrive charity.  Vincent was the life and the soul for his family, he meant so much to me, as we were all brought up together. He was very much like a brother to me, and his family is my extended family, we all love and miss him so much. I have done charity work for 42 years and look forward to many more."

"I would like to say a big thank you to Bee Sweet - Drew,  put up all the Christmas lights at my house and Sam who has not only donated alot of selection boxes, but is also taking the time to handwrite replies to the letters and delivering them."
