Residents and visitors to Wymondham are being encouraged to cast aside the doom and gloom of winter and enjoy a taste of Spring on Lemon Day, Saturday November 5th.

The town’s annual celebration of all things Lemon (colour, flavour or fruit) will provide an opportunity for community groups, businesses and individuals to come together under a common theme.

There’s an important message for dog walkers and cyclists, highlighting the need for them to wear something fluorescent as the clocks go back. The Farm Cafe at Centre Paws is offering a cupcake to any dog visiting there on Lemon Day, that is wearing a Hi Vis collar (of any colour).

There will also be a recognition of the Sunflower as a declared symbol of the day, with photographs of some of the winning entries in the Wymondham in Bloom Sunflower Growing Competition on display in the library.

There’s an Arts and Crafts event at Fairland Hall (10am - 1pm), supported by Morrisons and Wymondham Town Council, with funds raised going to the Mayor’s chosen charities.

And if you enjoy singing and/or playing a musical instrument, you are welcome to Drop In and Zing at the adjacent Fairland Church Centre from 12 noon – 2pm.

You can get involved in Lemon Day by simply putting something yellow in your window if you live in the town or by wearing/carrying something yellow. There will also be an opportunity to sample some Lemon creations in the participating cafes.

Wymondham Lemon Day is a Wymondham Town Team coordinated event.
