Later kick-offs in winter and night-time training will now be possible on the main pitch at Wymondham Rugby Club thanks to a new set of floodlights installed in August.

Project Light Up Barnard Fields has come to fruition after months of planning and fundraising. Wymondham RFC celebrated on Facebook:

‘This has been a huge project for Wymondham Rugby Club and one that will make a lasting difference to rugby at Barnard Fields for years to come.

‘From the very beginning, this was a real club and community effort.

‘A massive THANK YOU to every single person who donated, sponsored, walked, ran, fundraised, supported an event or simply helped spread the word. Every contribution helped us reach our target and turn this project from an ambition into reality.

‘We must also give a huge thank you to Sport England for their incredible support through a £15,000 grant, which played a major part in helping us get the project over the line.

‘And, of course, thank you to Christy Floodlighting Limited and K Beales Plant Hire and Contracting LTD for their work in bringing the project to life.'
