Wymondham resident Gina Hopkinson is proud to present Walking Netball, bringing it to Wymondham for the first time. It’s an experience that is one of a kind and gives access to a whole world of fun, activity and lots of laughter. Gina is a specially trained Walking Netball Host, endorsed by England Netball.

Walking Netball has been designed so that anyone can play, regardless of age or fitness level. From those who have dropped out of the sport they love due to injury to those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers many years ago. Walking Netball really is for everyone. It can give those who feel isolated an outlet, provide an activity for those who do not deem themselves fit enough to run anymore and offer a stepping stone for those looking for a pathway back into netball. It's also for people who have never played before. Whoever you are, there is a place for you within Walking Netball.

The physical and mental benefits are endless; you’ll be supported and welcomed every step of the way.

Gina discovered the sport last year, having played ‘normal’ netball for years. She said, “I had knee surgery a year ago and I really missed not being able to play netball. I discovered a Walking Netball group in Norwich and found everyone there so welcoming! It was perfect for my rehabilitation, as I couldn’t run or jump. I enjoyed it so much, I just had to train as a Host to be able to spread the word. Having announced the new group on social media, I’ve been overwhelmed at the interest. I think it’s going to be a really popular session.”

Sessions cost £6 and take place every Friday indoors at Wymondham Leisure Centre, 18:15-19:15, commencing on Fri 24 Feb. You can just turn up, wearing trainers or comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes. You don’t need to commit to coming every week, you can just drop in and attend when it suits.
