A big thank you to everyone who came to the Lions Quiz'n'chilli evening. I'm writing this just before the event but I'm sure it was a great success. We aim to please, and make some money to give away. Recently we helped out at the Wayland Show, looking after a couple of gates. I was on the 'Horse Gate'. It seems some people like horses but to me they bite at one end and kick at the other. I stay clear. We are very grateful for a lovely donation from the Show committee for our charity account.

A couple of our members held a coffee morning in aid of MacMillan Nurses. The cakes were superb and a sum approaching £200 was sent off to MacMillan.

Christmas will see us at our busiest time. We will be at Wynterfest 4th December. I'm very pleased that, once again, we have persuaded the REAL SANTA to fly in. He is due to land at his grotto in Wharton's Court at 1pm. He has promised to stay until 5pm. Presents this year will be £5 each.

We will also be holding our annual bucket collection on the 2nd and 3rd of December in Waitrose. The money raised from this goes towards Christmas presents for all of the residents at four Wymondham Care Homes. We have Santa booked again to deliver the gifts while our heavenly choir entertain staff and residents with seasonal carols at each home. Dates are 14th, 15th and 16th of December. If anyone would like to come along for a lovely Christmas sing song please ask any Lion or contact wymondhamlions@gmail.com for info.

The New Year will see us, with Rotary, holding our magical Burns Supper & Ceilidh at Central Hall on January 27th. Full details will be available nearer to Christmas.

Further dates for the diary will have us at the Royal Norfolk Show on June 29th & 30th and the marvellous Jazz Picnic in Becketswell is scheduled for July 8th.

Recent donations include to the Norfolk Community Foundation food bank and the Lions International Foundation disaster relief to help people around the world suffering from fire and flood. We were also able to help a local lad go on a junior chefs course which has helped his well being.

Wymondham Lions meet upstairs in The Feathers at 7:30pm on the last Tuesday of each month (not December). We are always open to visitors and would love to have some new members to come and help us in what we do. The larger our group the more impact we can make.
