Have you discovered Big C’s emporium of shops on Allenbrooks Way in Wymondham? With a large selection of furniture, a craft supplies shop, soft furnishings, books and bric-a-brac as well as a high-end clothing boutique, it’s certainly one of Wymondham’s hidden gems!

In addition to the traditional retail shop offering, Big C runs classes and meet-up sessions. Crafters new and old can join in workshops learning about knitting, crochet, bookmaking, reading patterns and more.

Every Friday they also have a sociable ‘meet, make and mardle’ session from 10am to 12 noon, which is free to attend - just bring along whatever project you’re working on and you can sit alongside other crafters to chat whilst you craft.

Whether you’re looking for items to start a new home, working on an upcycling or craft project or you need a dress for a summer party, the team at Big C’s retail outlet are ready to help in any way they can. The Boutique, which opened its door in February 2021, stocks clothing, shoes, and accessories from high-end brands including Hobbs, White Stuff, Joules, and Crew. If you’re looking for a special outfit, just speak to a member of the team and they’ll be happy to advise you.

Shop Manager Aubrey Jenkins said: ‘We’ve built up a lovely community at our Wymondham store over the years and it’s great to see customers returning time and again, whether they’re popping in to say hello, taking part in one of our ‘meet, make & mardle’ sessions or looking for a gift. We really appreciate our customers’ support, with every penny we make going towards helping support people affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties.’

Wymondham also hosts the charity’s distribution centre, where any donations are collected and then shared out across the 14 retail shops, as well as the eBay store, which helps bring in extra funds.

If you have any items to donate, you can drop them off between 10am and 3pm (Tuesday to Saturday), or for larger items the team is happy to arrange a free collection. Just call 01953 603320 to arrange a suitable time.

The Big C team is always looking for volunteers, too, so if you have a few hours to spare and you fancy making a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer, please get in touch with people@big-c.co.uk or visit www.big-c.co.uk/volunteer for further information. No experience is necessary, just a can-do attitude and a willingness to get involved.
