This novel was first published in 2018 and later became a movie in 2019 starring Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson. I can even confidently say that the movie is just as good as the book and has extremely accurate scenes and locations. Its aim is to educate others about Cystic Fibrosis and Burkholderia Cepacia and channel the challenges which people in the real world struggle with today. Although this novel isn’t based on a true story, it is inspired by those with CF and B. Cepacia.
Five Feet Apart revolves around a forbidden, life threatening romance with Stella Grant and Will Newman. They must keep a large distance between each other as Stella has Cystic Fibrosis and Will suffers with Burkholderia Cepacia and if Stella contracts it, her chance at getting a new pair of lungs is ruined.
Overall I would recommend this novel by Rachael Lippincott, Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis to anyone 14+ as it is an emotional rollercoaster of a novel, however it is also extremely powerful as it shows that love has no limits.
