Another successful Junior Bake-Off took place on 12th July 2026 at North Wymondham Community Centre.

This year’s theme was the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Alice in Wonderland, with contestants challenged to create a decorated Very Unhappy Birthday Cake. They certainly rose to the occasion, impressing the judges with imaginative designs and cakes that, by all accounts, tasted second to none.

While judging was underway, family and friends enjoyed table-top games, bought crocheted soft toys from our young entrepreneur Isabella, tried out glitter tattoos and face painting, watched a performance by the Kelalou Academy of Irish dancing, and tried their hand at tombola with lovely prizes, which included a voucher donated by Mad Hatters Tea Shop in Wymondham. Popular homemade refreshments were on sale to enjoy while watching all the activities taking place.

Every Junior Baker shone on the day, creating marvellous Mad Hatter’s Tea Party cakes that showed real focus and impressive decorating skills. Three cheers for all the Junior Bakers who took part this year — well done!
