Dozens of stalls, hundreds of people … and one large bee with a placard. The first Good Stuff Fair certainly had a buzz about it.

The intention was to give Wymondham residents a taste of what’s going on in the town: clubs, societies and sports they can take part in. And there’s nothing like meeting the people running the club to find out what it’s really like.

For the stall-holders, it was a chance to show off their wares, meet potential new members, and network with other groups. It helped enormously to have Clear Company providing food and drink on-site to keep everyone going. MP Ben Goldsborough came along to give the Fair his support and heap praise on our volunteers who keep so many aspects of Wymondham going.

The raffle raised an excellent £130 for Girlguiding’s planting plans at Rothbury Park.

Looking good, Sophie Garrod (the woman beneath the costume)! .

A quick poll shows an enthusiasm to hold the Fair again next October – but to give it more than a three-month run-up! As for the Bee who strolled through Wymondham advertising the event – step forward actress Sophie Garrod, who certainly drew people in. Wait to see what we’ve got for her to wear next year!
