The leader of South Norfolk Council has confirmed the million pound deal to improve the public realm in Wymondham town centre is still on the table. At the last full council meeting, in response to a question, John Fuller said:
“Retail is changing. The way people use market towns is changing. If we’re putting a million pounds on the table, if the Town Council will come with us using CIL, if we all sweep the money up together we can do something really impressive. As indeed we’ve done in the past with the Diss Heritage Triangle and in Harleston.”
An exploratory meeting with District and Town Councillors will be set up to begin the process of public consultation, so that people in Wymondham get to shape what improvements they want to see.
