RYLA stands for Rotary Young Leader Award and it’s a leadership experience organised by Rotary clubs for young people to develop skills as leaders whilst having fun and making connections.

In August, a week-long RYLA residential course took place at Grafham Water and Wymondham Rotary Satellite Group were delighted when Rosie Stanford accepted their invitation to attend. Rosie works at Wymondham Medical Centre and she readily admits that the course was a challenge involving so many new experiences including overnight hikes, kayaking and many other challenges. Rosie feels attendance on the course was not only great fun but a real benefit to her professional personal development and an opportunity to make new friends. There are already plans for Rosie and her fellow delegates to get together for a reunion very soon.

The scheme runs annually so if you know a young person aged 18 -26 who would like a big adventure next summer then get in touch with Wymondham Rotary Satellite Group via their Facebook page or by email to wymrsg@gmail.com.
