Each year the Rotary Satellite Group chooses a local charity to support as their 'Charity of the Year'. This year they have chosen Headway Norfolk and Waveney, a local, independent charity that aims to improve lives impacted by brain injury by providing crucial support and services to individuals who have been affected by brain injury.

Tara Davis of Headway said "A brain injury is usually sudden, completely unexpected and can be devastating for the person ,their family and friends, irreversibly changing all of their lives. It could be from a number of causes, these include stroke, brain tumours or traumatic brain injuries caused by accidents or falls. Headway Norfolk and Waveney’s aim is to improve day-to-day life for every individual they work with; to improve confidence, independence and empower them to access community assets, to socialise and to enhance their well-being."

Initially Rotary Satellite Group will be sponsoring a DJ Skills course which will not only provide the young people supported with a new skill but will also greatly improve their confidence and social skills. They also hope to support a programme which will provide advice and information about concussion injuries.

Anyone wishing to know more about the charity or to assist Rotary Satellite Group with their fundraising can get in touch by email to wymrsg@gmail.com or through their Facebook page.
