On Christmas Eve you may glimpse Greening Wymondham members out collecting water samples for testing. The fortnightly testing is rarely a hardship when you can walk the banks of the Tiffey – in the hopes of seeing the famous otter along with the kingfishers, voles and river flies. The photo shows GW’s Mike, Andrew, Gabriella and Jay. Join us!

Or tell us what you’d like to see in terms of playground equipment at Rothbury Park. “Back in the summer our plans to transform the Park were approved unanimously by the council,” says Mary Howard. “We’re now busy raising funding for the replanting and reshaping of the park – and that includes updating current rusty equipment with imaginative and sustainable additions.”

GW’s Julie Morgan is having playgroup consultations with young members of the Wild Tribe community group but would welcome ideas from other groups and age ranges – email her via greeningwymondham@gmail.com.

And a festive follow-up to our gift of trees to Wymondham’s Year 6s. Ten-year-old Bethany Leathersich from Ashleigh Primary School couldn’t find a suitable place in her garden, so mum Maria contacted us. We found a spot for the hazel in Kett’s Park wood, where it could see at least a twenty-second century Christmas.

A sustainable Season’s Greetings to you all! Find us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (@GreeningWyndham), online at www.greeningwymondham.org.uk; or email greeningwymondham@gmail.com
