Autumn Concert 'Influences.' Saturday November 26th, at 7.30 pm in The Central Hall, Wymondham.
- Overture and March-past of the Kitchen Utensils from The Wasp Suite by Vaughan Williams
- Fantasia on Greensleeves by Vaughan Williams
- Tuba Concerto, soloist Mark Peck, by Vaughan Williams
- Symphony No.3 The Irish, by Charles Villiers Stanford
Rehearsals for our Autumn concert are well underway and the orchestra is very much enjoying playing the lively folk tune influences of both Vaughan Williams’ and Charles Stanford's music. We have also had some particularly lively rehearsals with the tuba soloist and it is fascinating to hear the delicate interplay between this large imposing instrument and the orchestra. A piece rarely heard, to be enjoyed by both classical concert goers and brass band enthusiasts alike. We are looking forward to seeing you all.

Family Christmas Concert Sunday December 11th at 3.30 pm in The Central Hall, Wymondham
To round off the autumn season the WSO members are very much looking forward to inviting the children of Robert Kett
Primary School, Wymondham, to play alongside them in a selection of Christmas music. They will be singing and playing popular carol arrangements with the orchestra, such as Jingle Bells, The Twelve Days of Christmas, O Come all Ye Faithful, to name a few, encouraging the audience to join in too.
The concert will start with some popular Christmas classics played by the orchestra, including movements from The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky, Cenerentola by Rossini and a special Christmas quiz devised by our conductor, Andrew Parnell. This should be a memorable event for the children, the orchestra and the audience alike. Do come along and join us.
Due to the current economic situation we are reducing the price of our Christmas concert tickets to just £5 each (under 18s and Friends of the orchestra are free). We hope this will enable as many parents, carers and audience as possible to attend. In a similar spirit we are also having a collection for the Wymondham Foodbank, so please give generously at this time.
