Wymondham-based amateur playwright, Tony Vale, has written more than 50 plays and he is celebrating with a sponsored reading of them on Saturday 9 September 2023.

Under the title of “50 Plays in 500 minutes” the session will take place at North Wymondham Community Centre in Lime Tree Avenue and will run as a free drop in event from 9:00am to 5:20pm. It will be open to the public and refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Tony is a founder member of local play writing group Four by Four, which was set up in 2009 as a collaboration between playwrights and still exists, providing a platform for the participating writers to present their original work to an audience.

Members of local drama groups are being invited to do the reading and local businesses are being offered the chance to sponsor individual plays, with all funds raised from the day going to the maintenance of the charity-owned venue.

Maze Moves in Wymondham has agreed to sponsor a play called “Moving On”, a drama focussing on a furniture removal company and Rosedale Funeral Home is supporting a comedy called “A Change of Tune”, which centres around the disposal of a family member’s ashes.
